Shri Mahesh Kantilal Shah was born on 1st April, 1950. He has Masters Degree in Science and was Rank Holder from Bombay University.
In the year 1971, joined his family business of Artificial Leathercloth manufacturing in India under the flagship company namely The National Leathercloth Mfg. Co., (NLC) which has also earned PLEXCONCIL AWARDS for last 13 years.
After the death of his father in 1982, he stirred the Group at the young age of 33 and diversified the Group activity by floating Royal Cushion Vinyl Products Ltd., (RCVP) in 1983 to manufacture 2 mtrs width Cushion Vinyl Flooring (CVF). Company has an excellent track record of exports and was the PLEXCONCIL Award winner for last 12 years.
Being a visionary and as a step towards forward integration of the Group's traditional business of leathercloth manufacturing, he floated a Company under the name, Vijayjyot Seats Ltd., (VSL) in 1989 for manufacture of automobile seats and soon became one of the major players in automobile seat industry. To meet the growing demands of the leather cloth requirements he doubled the Group's production capacity by starting a company under Vinyroyal Plasticoates Ltd., (VRPL) in the year 1992.
Looking to his rich and versatile experience of 2½ decades, he was elected as a Committee Member of PLEXCONCIL and later on held the prestigious position of Chairman for 2 years.
He was also Committee Member of Federation of Indian Export Organisation (FIEO)
He was the Vice President of Plastindia Foundation for the term 2000-2003 and in the year Oct 2003 he was elected as the President of Plastindia Foundation for next term 2003-2006. Plastindia Foundation is the Apex body of all major plastic associations of India
